Ambiance

The   lighting  sets the mood...
Decorating with "lights" really can set the tone for the whole room...
creating an atmosphere
of
r o m a n c e.
I happen to think that a romantic look in every room is beautiful...
but perhaps the bedroom
is the most obvious place for it.
I love tea-lights and candles
and there are so many ways to make that happen in the bedroom.

A hanging tea-lite holder
alongside some dried roses
creates a soft, yet tender light.

Subdued lighting in the bedroom is welcome.
I have a chandy that only allows a low light,
so it's perfect for the bedroom.
I love the softness of light it gives in here.
A bedside lamp with a brighter light
is always available for brighter light to read.

And of course, a chandy in the living room
is irresistable ;)
Perfectly shabby...
such a beautiful way to add pretty lighting.

A beautiful light can add so much to a room.

Hooked

I promised to show you my shabby chic homemade
painted board and hook when I had it hung.
Well, it's been hung for quite some time..
it's just me who's been busy ;)

I love these creations,
and how useful they can be.
I am using this one for my dried roses,
and some necklaces,
along with
some snowflakes.
Hmmm maybe time to change the snowflakes...I'm thinking  s p r i n g!
;)

Soon I will begin to make some more...
I'd love to try a light turquoise or aqua.
I'll be keeping my eye out for some unique hooks.
There's no place that your home can't benefit from these...
the bedroom, living room, bathroom, hallway, workshop...you name it!

They're so easy!
A piece of old wood, some paint,
a few hooks,
and a screwdriver.
I love easy projects!

Bringing the garden indoors

Hello friends!
I know for most of us it's winter
and the ground is covered in snow and the cold has set in for a while,
b u t....

can we not bring "the garden" indoors.

D e c o r a t e  with blooms?

It's as simple as heading out to our local supermarket
and picking some up at the checkout.
But what a difference it makes in the midst
of the winter.
It adds that touch of "summer"
that many of us are so longing for right about now.

We may not have the "dipping of our toes" in the water
just yet,
but we can certainly feel summers delights
by decorating our home with
summers blooms
and fragrances.

And the good news is...
spring will be here before we know it.
Here are some of springs tulips I captured from the Ottawa Tulip Festival a few years ago!
I'm a tulip lover!

How about you?
What blooms do you love to decorate your home with?
